Variation: DVD Cover Illustration
Series: Code Geass (Anime and Manga)
Debuted: Metrocon 2010
Construction Notes: Another big fancy puffy dress! I can’t help it, they’re kind of my thing.
I used Baby Silk for the large majority of this costume (and chiffon). I loved the way the Baby Silk flowed like butter, and it didn’t have an obnoxious shine to it – in fact, it was nearly matte. I used lace on certain parts of this costume to add interest, like on the bodice and the sleeves.
The pattern I used was for a fairy costume, but I altered it drastically. The skirt is a full circle skirt, since I wanted to be able to get epic sitting-down shots where my skirt was all fanned out around me.
Personal Thoughts: So, Mattissimo talked me into making these outfits (the counterpart to our Euphemia and Suzaku costumes), but I was hesitant because I didn’t want to be repetitve with cosplaying as different characters from the same artwork. But in the end, I really wanted to cosplay as C.C. again, and I thought these costumes would be good to wear to Metrocon of that year. And I’m always a sucker for a big fancy puffy dress. I also made Matt’s Lelouch costume so that we could enter the costume contest as a duo.
